On Thursday, July 23, the dealership partnered with Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic to host “Nathan’s Arctic Expedition,” an unforgettable send-off celebration for a 16-year-old from Odenton, Maryland, whose wish is to travel to Alaska and experience the Northern Lights.
For Nathan, who has been battling leukemia, the upcoming journey represents an opportunity to explore a place he’s dreamed of visiting, from its breathtaking glaciers and wildlife to the colorful Northern Lights illuminating the night sky.
And the team at Sheehy Toyota of Laurel wanted to make sure his adventure began with a celebration worthy of the occasion.
A Grand Entrance for a Special Guest
The excitement began the moment Nathan arrived.
Sheehy employees lined the showroom to create a human corridor, welcoming him with cheers, signs, glowing LED lights, and a red carpet entrance.
Surrounded by family, friends, dealership employees, Make-A-Wish representatives, and community partners, Nathan received a warm welcome as everyone gathered to celebrate his upcoming adventure.
The showroom had been transformed into an Alaska-inspired celebration, complete with food, cupcakes, refreshments, games, and activities designed around Nathan’s interests and his dream destination.
Every detail helped bring the spirit of his Arctic Expedition to life before he even boarded a plane.
More Than a Destination, a Wish Come True
For Nathan, Alaska offers the chance to experience some of nature’s most incredible sights. From towering glaciers and remarkable wildlife to the possibility of watching the Northern Lights dance across the sky, his wish is filled with opportunities for adventure and discovery.
