Five dogs. Five new families. One unforgettable day filled with wagging tails and happy endings!
On Saturday, July 11, Sheehy Subaru of Springfield partnered with Homeward Trails Animal Rescue to host a Subaru Loves Pets Pop-Up Pet Event, bringing together animal lovers, local families, and community members for a day dedicated to finding loving homes for dogs in need.
By the end of the event, five dogs had found their forever homes, with several additional adoption applications submitted, creating the possibility of even more happy endings in the weeks ahead.
A Day Filled with Paws, Smiles, and New Beginnings
The dealership was buzzing with excitement as guests met adoptable dogs, connected with fellow animal lovers, and enjoyed a variety of activities throughout the free community event.
One of the sweetest moments came when new pet parents visited a special pet portrait station, complete with a custom backdrop, to capture their first family photos with their newly adopted companions.
The excitement even reached the service department, where customers stopping in for vehicle maintenance joined the festivities and spent time with the adorable adoptable pups.
With dogs making new friends and families making lasting memories, the showroom was filled with the kind of energy that made the day truly special.
Sharing Stories and Spreading Awareness
The event also welcomed local author Melanie Kaplan, who hosted a meet-and-greet and book signing featuring her book Lab Dog.
Kaplan shared insights into animal welfare, the importance of animal safety, and raising awareness about animal testing and cruelty.
More than 100 complimentary signed copies of Lab Dog were distributed to community members, giving attendees an opportunity to learn more about animal welfare while enjoying the day’s festivities.
Helping More Pets Find Their Happy Ending
Through the Subaru Loves Pets initiative, Sheehy Subaru of Springfield continues to support efforts that help shelter animals find the safe, loving homes they deserve.
This event was a wonderful reminder of the difference that can be made when local businesses, rescue organizations, and community members come together for a shared cause.
While five successful adoptions were the highlight of the day, the additional adoption applications offered hope that even more dogs could soon find their perfect match.
A huge thank-you to Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, Melanie Kaplan, the Sheehy Subaru of Springfield team, and everyone who attended and supported this special event.
And to the five dogs who found their forever families, we wish you a lifetime of belly rubs, treats, adventures, and unconditional love!
Here’s to more wagging tails and happy endings!
