Sheehy Hyundai of Waldorf Gives Back Through Hyundai Hope on Wheels
Sheehy Hyundai of Waldorf continued its commitment to Southern Maryland families with a special visit to the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata on July 7, 2026.
As part of Hyundai Hope on Wheels, the Sheehy team delivered hundreds of plush teddy bears for hospital staff to distribute to patients and families. The visit created an opportunity for employees, healthcare professionals and foundation leaders to come together around a shared goal: providing comfort and encouragement to members of the local community.
Supporting the People Who Support Southern Maryland
The University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center serves as an important healthcare resource for families throughout Charles County and the surrounding region. Every day, its physicians, nurses, support teams and foundation leaders help patients navigate moments that can be stressful, uncertain and life-changing.
During the visit, Sheehy Hyundai of Waldorf met with hospital and foundation representatives, including J. Caprice Brown, Executive Director of the Foundation; Anne S. Weekley, Vice President of Quality and Patient Experience; and Natasha Sutton, Assistant Nurse Manager.
Their participation helped make the delivery more than a simple handoff. It provided a chance to discuss the hospital’s role in the community and the importance of offering patients care that addresses both their medical and emotional needs.
Teddy bears can provide children with a sense of familiarity and reassurance during a hospital visit. They can also serve as a reminder to families that their neighbors, local businesses and healthcare teams care about what they are going through.
A Community Partnership with Lasting Value
Sheehy Hyundai of Waldorf is proud to call Southern Maryland home. The dealership’s employees live, work and raise their families in the same communities as their customers, which makes local involvement an important part of the Sheehy story.
Through initiatives such as Hyundai Hope on Wheels, the dealership can help support organizations that have a direct impact on local residents. These partnerships strengthen the connection between businesses and the people they serve while helping valuable community institutions continue their work.
The visit to UM Charles Regional also recognized the dedication of hospital staff. Their work often extends beyond medical treatment. They offer reassurance, answer difficult questions and help patients and families feel supported throughout their healthcare experience.
By providing teddy bears for hospital staff to share, Sheehy Hyundai of Waldorf hoped to give caregivers another small way to bring comfort to patients when they need it most.
More Than a Dealership
Sheehy Auto Stores believes that being part of a community comes with a responsibility to contribute to its well-being. That belief is reflected in the company’s ongoing support of charitable organizations, healthcare providers and community programs throughout the areas it serves.
For Sheehy Hyundai of Waldorf, this visit was another opportunity to turn that commitment into action. It also reinforced the value of working with trusted local institutions such as the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center and its foundation.
The dealership is grateful to the hospital staff and foundation leaders who helped coordinate the delivery and welcomed the Sheehy team. Their partnership made it possible to share a message of hope with patients and families throughout Southern Maryland.
Sheehy Hyundai of Waldorf looks forward to continuing to support the people and organizations that make the region a stronger, more caring place to live.
