“Sheehy Has Heart” Campaign Kicks Off with Focus on Health, Awareness, and Impact
FAIRFAX, VA (April 1, 2026) — Sheehy Auto Stores successfully brought together employees, partners, and community members for a meaningful day of movement and purpose at George Mason University Stadium, celebrating National Walking Day and officially launching its annual “Sheehy Has Heart” campaign in support of the American Heart Association.
The event welcomed participants of all ages for a morning focused on heart health, community connection, and simple steps toward healthier living. With heart disease and stroke continuing to be the leading causes of death in the United States, the initiative served as a reminder of the importance of awareness, prevention, and collective action.
“Through our ‘Sheehy Has Heart’ campaign, we’re proud to support the lifesaving work of the American Heart Association while encouraging our communities to take simple steps toward healthier lives,” said Vince Sheehy, President of Sheehy Auto Stores.
A Day Focused on Movement and Wellness
Attendees participated in a walking circuit around the stadium and engaged in a range of interactive wellness activities designed to promote healthy habits and education. The event featured:
- Yoga and Tabata sessions led by The St. James
- Fitness demonstrations with a George Mason University athletic trainer
- CPR education from the American Heart Association
- Nutrition and food demonstrations by a GMU dietician
- Rugby tackling experiences with Old Glory DC
Participants who completed the activity circuit were rewarded with complimentary food vouchers, adding to the energy and engagement throughout the event.
Community Impact in Action
The National Walking Day event reflects Sheehy Auto Stores’ long-standing commitment to heart health initiatives. Since launching the “Sheehy Has Heart” campaign in 2014, the company has raised more than $3.3 million for the American Heart Association.
These efforts directly support lifesaving research, education, and prevention programs across the Mid-Atlantic—helping individuals and families live longer, healthier lives.
Now in its latest year, the campaign continues to mobilize Sheehy employees, partners, and community members with a shared goal: raising awareness and making a lasting impact in the fight against heart disease.
