This year, Sheehy Toyota of Laurel proudly partnered with the Kids In Need Foundation to make a meaningful impact at Laurel Woods Elementary School. Through this collaboration, Sheehy Toyota of Laurel donated $10,000 to the school, fully funding a unique initiative designed to equip students with the necessary supplies for a successful school year.
Laurel Woods Elementary set up a “school store” where students and families received a list of required supplies from their teachers and could then walk through the store to gather the items on their list. Each child also received a new backpack, ensuring they have everything they need to start the year on the right foot. Sheehy Toyota of Laurel’s generous donation made it possible for the school to provide these resources without burdening families.
In addition to the donation, team members from Sheehy Toyota of Laurel were on-site to help distribute supplies and support the students. This hands-on involvement further highlighted Sheehy’s commitment to the local community and education, reinforcing the company’s belief that providing tools for learning is an essential foundation for future success.
This initiative is part of Sheehy Auto Stores’ larger group-wide effort to support students in the communities where they operate. Sheehy Auto Stores launched a school supply drive running from July 22 to August 16, 2024, across their locations in Washington, D.C.; Richmond, VA; Hagerstown, MD; and Baltimore, MD. Customers were invited to donate new school supplies, including backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and other essential items.
“We are proud to support our local communities and help students start the school year with the supplies they need,” said Vince Sheehy, President of Sheehy Auto Stores. “Education is a critical foundation for future success, and we are committed to making a positive impact by ensuring that every student has the tools necessary to thrive.”
Through initiatives like this, Sheehy Auto Stores continues to demonstrate its dedication to strengthening local communities and empowering students with the resources they need to succeed in school and beyond.
