At Sheehy, giving back to our community is at the heart of
who we are. One of the organizations we are especially proud to support is Empowerhouse,
a nonprofit dedicated to helping survivors of domestic violence and their
children rebuild their lives with dignity, respect, safety, and hope.
This year, Sheehy Toyota of Fredericksburg proudly
donated $5,000 to Empowerhouse. Kevin Runey (GM) and Pam Payne
(Controller) presented the donation to Kathy Anderson and Susan
Sigmon from Empowerhouse. Our partnership began in 2018, and we are
grateful to continue supporting such a meaningful cause year after year.
Formerly known as the Rappahannock Council on Domestic
Violence, Empowerhouse provides vital services to Fredericksburg, Caroline,
King George, Spotsylvania, and Stafford. Their mission remains strong: to
empower survivors to believe in themselves and create new futures, while also
working with the community to prevent domestic violence.
Services include a confidential shelter, a 24-hour hotline,
victim and court advocacy, children’s services, support groups,
Spanish-language programs, housing assistance, teen dating violence prevention,
and more. Each year, Empowerhouse shelters over 100 adults and 100 children,
offering safety and a path toward healing.
We are proud to stand alongside Empowerhouse as they
continue their critical work. Together, we can make a difference and create
safer, stronger communities.
